Security and settings
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
QIAS LIMS may require staff users to set up MFA before they can continue. During setup:
- Confirm your password when QIAS LIMS requests it.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
- Enter the current one-time code from the authenticator app.
- Save recovery codes in a secure location.
If the setup session expires, QIAS LIMS asks you to confirm your password and start the QR-code step again. This is a security safeguard, not a problem with your authenticator code.
Password and account recovery
Use Forgot password from the login page when you cannot sign in. Follow the verification link or code from your email. Contact an administrator if your account is disabled, you no longer have access to the registered email, or an organization membership needs correction.
Workspace and account selection
Users can have a staff workspace, a client workspace, or both. Use the workspace switcher to change context. Client users with membership in multiple organizations can use the account switcher to choose the account whose projects and jobs are in view.
Personal settings
Open Settings to manage:
- personal name and required phone number
- organization identity, where your membership permits it
- notification preferences
- language, timezone, and date/time settings
- default landing page and default client account
- password, MFA, recovery codes, and trusted devices
- account deletion request or other account lifecycle controls, where enabled
Shared devices
Always sign out when using a shared workstation. Do not save passwords in an unapproved browser profile. For a direct label-printing workstation, follow the local QZ Tray trust and printer-setup procedure managed by your QIAS LIMS administrator.
